Performance and Tests

These tests represent the thermal performance of the MSG gripper under different conditions. The default thermal error limit is 75°C.

Errors

If you build the MSG gripper yourself and do not place a thermistor in the motor coils, you risk damaging your gripper during normal operation.

Performance over multiple days

  • Testing: cycle open and close every 2.5s
  • No load present; current/torque applied is near 0
  • Continuous testing for 7 days
  • Motor temperature: 42
  • Ambient temperature: 33

Max constant current over some time

  • Testing: Hold object
  • Max current setpoint: TBD
  • Tested for 24h
  • Stable motor temperature during testing: TBD
  • Ambient temperature: TBD

Max current to trigger thermal error

  • Testing: Hold object
  • Max current setpoint: TBD
  • Time to trigger thermal error under x load: TBD
  • Ambient temperature: TBD
